In a pan, dry roast the cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, and poppy seeds until aromatic. Allow to cool and grind to a fine powder.

In another pan, heat oil and sauté onions and tomatoes until soft.

Add ginger garlic paste and fry until the raw smell disappears.

Add the ground powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 3-4 minutes.

Add chicken pieces and mix well until coated with spices. Cook on high heat for 10 minutes.

Lower the heat, add water and cover the pan. Let it simmer until the chicken is cooked and the curry thickens.
