Recipe Instructions
- 1
Combine wheat flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Gradually add water to the bowl and knead the mixture into a soft, elastic dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- 3
Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a smooth ball.
- 4
Flatten a ball of dough with a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface until it forms a thin circle about 6 inches in diameter.
- 5
Heat a tava or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the rolled-out dough onto the hot tava.
- 6
Cook for about 30 seconds, or until bubbles start to form on the surface. Flip the roti and cook the other side for another 30 seconds.
- 7
Press gently with a cloth or spatula, making the roti puff up, and flip again for a few seconds.
- 8
Remove the roti from the skillet and keep it in a covered container. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
- 9
Serve warm with your favorite vegetable dish or curry.
