Boil pasta in salted water according to package instructions until al dente.

In a blender, combine basil leaves, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan cheese. Blend into a smooth paste.

While blending, gradually add olive oil until the mixture emulsifies and becomes creamy.

Drain the pasta and reserve some of the cooking water.

Toss the pasta with the pesto sauce in a large bowl. If the sauce is too thick, add a few tablespoons of the reserved pasta water to loosen it.
