Rinse the sticky rice until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

Soak the rinsed rice in water for at least an hour or overnight.

Drain the rice and steam it in a bamboo or cloth-lined steamer for about 20 minutes or until tender.

While the rice is cooking, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer until the sugar dissolves.
